She is certainly true to herself and honest with constituents.

Evans isn't for "conservative values." He's for fundamentalism in government as is fellow Senate candidate Steve Abrams, house incumbent Lance Kinzer, ex-Board of Ed director Connie Morris, etc. The 33rd is a very "R" district, or there would have been a "D" running. Rev. Evans is an ideologue and novice.

Comment on Control of the Kansas State Senate: Primary Battles

I read with interest the analysis of the District 33 race at the top of the page. It might be worth taking a ride around the district. The Andrew Evans signs outnumber his opponents everywhere except in Stafford county.

As I have talked around, I have found that Democrats are supporting Teichman. One of my friends was even approached by Senator Lee about supporting Teichman. Evans seems to be using that when talking to folks. He is promoting old fashioned conservative Republican principles. These have been lost among many Republicans. Maybe that is why there is no Democrat running in District 33.

Comment on Approval of the Moore and Boyda Congress Hits All-Time Low..Again..

Pam has attempted to make SRK a "fact free" zone.

Any watcher of C-Span can say that Democratic attempts to pass desperately needed legislation is subject to perennial dilatory motions such as endless and otherwise purposeless quorum calls.

Worse still is the number of filibusters, threats of cloture or cloture votes. The 110th Congress is certain to double the number of historic cloture votes.

Leadership has enforced a new "tyranny of the minority," when it blocks otherwise bipartisan legislation by enforcing party discipline.

There simply aren't enough Hagels or Chaffees, etc., to get sensible legislation past enforced cloture.

I can't understand how anyone, "R", "D" or "I" would not be chagrined when efforts have been blocked to reduce some of the most destructive pork from prior congresses. Obviously included would be the recently blocked reform of Medicare "Advantage," and allowing negotiations for Part D Medicare Rx prices (which has been the biggest boondoggle this side of wars and bank bailouts).

Despite these efforts, which may become the (unfortunate for Republicans) subject of campaigns, Democrats have obviously had some successes, such as passing (at last) higher CAFE standards. Under Republican domination fuel guzzlers were actually subsidized and encouraged. Some vehicles were built to take advantage, for instance, of the 6,000# $100,000 one year tax write-off, and weighed exactly 6,000# or near that (i.e., 6001#). A great many were imports: Rover, Mercedes, Lexus, Nissan Pathfinder.

Quite simply, this legislation enabled the U.S. auto industry to commit suicide by building Escalades, Suburbans, Hummers, etc. At the same time, it blocked health care reform that would have helped GM, Ford and Chrysler reduce their pension costs.

So did the Democrats manage to pass anything, despite that obstructionism? Of course. Here's a very short list:

Passed legislation to increase the federal minimum wage (of course in KS, our minimum, thanks to Charles and David Koch, is still $2.65/hr.)

Passed an emergency spending bill that included $6 billion for
hurricane relief

Passed a bill to upgrade military health care and provide a 3.5
percent pay raise for our troops

Passed an Iraq supplemental appropriations bill that included an
additional $1.8 billion for veterans' health care

Passed a bill to implement the 9/11 Commission recommendations

Passed an ethics and lobbying reform bill

Passed a bill to cut subsidies to student lenders and provide $17
billion in grants and other student aid

Passed a bill to better regulate the student loan industry

An exhaustive list would put the most dedicated wonk to sleep, so I'll end there.

Again, my point. If the Republican party wants to argue Democratic
"ineffectiveness," it should tread very lightly in those instances of the absence of facts.

Comment on Approval of the Moore and Boyda Congress Hits All-Time Low..Again..

Does it strike you all as peculiar that:
1) San Fran Nan gushed and PROMISED things would get done in the first 100 days because the DEMOCANTS took back control of the House? How convenient of their lackeys and supporters to forget that comment. In that time, all they've done is continue to play the Bash Bush game that's been going on since 2001 (see the recent Pelosi comment on CNN where she called the President an "abject failure"?). Since handing over the House to them, we've seen $4.00 a gallon gas, and other consumer essentials skyrocket on their watch. And they want us to reward their lame duck, lame brained performances with re-election? I don't think so.
2)Senator Hope'nChange and his party have been throwing these words around like water but don't actually spell out their plan. It's wait 'till 2009 to find out what the change is. That's when we'll really get s******.
3) For such a positive sounding tandem, the "hope 'n change," mantra the Democants have adopted for their campaign slogan, they don't offer ANY solutions. We CAN'T use OUR national resources because it will endanger another stupid owl or cause more "global warming." And ALL OF THEM PARROT THE SAME TIRED LINE, "WE CAN'T DRILL OUR WAY OUT of our current energy problem." Mexico, China and Cuba can drill off of our shores. Isn't there something WRONG with this picture?

America is for sale to the highest bidder in this election, and the DEMOCANTS, who believe in stifling Yankee ingenuity rather than using it will sell the country to George Soros, their master puppeteer and our potential slave master.

As for the Guv'nah, she IS an opportunist. We need to be wary of her. She's not a Kansasan, never has been and never shared our interests to begin with. Like MO Senator Claire McCaskill, they have the distinction to pop on to the scene whenever they think they can insinuate themselves for personal gain.

Comment on Approval of the Moore and Boyda Congress Hits All-Time Low..Again..

Links confirming Sebelius attendance at Bilderberg.

http://primebuzz.kcstar.com/?q=node/13004

http://primebuzz.kcstar.com/?q=node/12476

Comment on Jordan Campaign Announces 'WakingUpWashington.com'

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=69784

Obama calls for domestic civilian security force. For what that is worth you get better results be not picking that "Hemi" option in your Jeep. Do you really think the oil companies are going to drop prices because there is 5% more oil available ?

Not going to happen. They will just make more money.

Hey, did you read about those no bid contracts for oil production on Iraq ?

Wonder how well that is going to help at our pumps ... don't you ?
Sure it is going to help FOBs ( friends of Bush )

Comment on Approval of the Moore and Boyda Congress Hits All-Time Low..Again..

So, what's the Democrat's plan? You've heard of SUPPLY and demand, of course. We've borrowed $700 to engage in this war, putting the $ valuation straight into the toilet.

Iraqi oil is the easiest in the world to produce, and is the sweetest grade, but they've dropped ~30% in production.

Used to be you could go to Canada and get about a buck and a quarter for a greenback. Now it's reversed. The Euro is worth half again as much against the $ as it was a couple of years ago.

The oil industry has huge reserves west of Prudhoe Bay, west of the Alpine field, but they've whined about getting ANWR opened for two decades, at the same time they aren't drilling on their leases.

You're not going to get that degree in rocket science, "Just Sayin," if you keep on believing in the nonsense you're fed.

I'm at a legislative conference with elected members from 16 states, none from Kansas, and people have mentioned what a bozo Melvin Neufeld is. It's like having to explain, a couple of years ago, that not everyone from Kansas thinks the world is only 4,000 years old.
