Obama and Kathy - God's Gift to Kansas?
StayRed received a very interesting e-mail submission last week, that discussed a story obviously missed by friendly media oulets, but relevant nonetheless.
Earlier this month, sports fans all over the Nation turned their eyes toward Augusta National Golf Course in Georgia for the annual 'Masters' golf tournament, perhaps the most prestigious P.G.A. event in the entire world. Millions of viewers tuned in to see which of the stacked field would rise to the top.
Despite this fact, not all eyes from the Sunflower State were focused on Augusta. In fact, thousands of Kansans took time out of their weekend to celebrate another sporting extravaganza that is much more relevant to the MidWest - the Kansas Governor's One-Shot Turkey Hunt.
This turkey-hunt is the largest of its' kind in the Country, soliciting the help of over 650 volunteers! In addition to those folks, hundreds more attended as actual event participants. Heck, former Governors Mike Hayden and Bill Graves even decided to show up. Guess who wasn't there, folks? Yea, that's right - Kathy Sebelius, who was supposed to be the flipping host of the event, for God's sake!
Also of note - the Governor's 'Gun,' which is typically auctioned off at the event, giving the highest bidder the opportunity to use the gun during the next year's event - went for 1/4 of its' normal bidding price. Apparently the hunters even felt incredibly slighted by Kathy's neglect.
Kathy's absence provides her with the dubious distinction of being the first sitting Governor to miss the event in the last 22 years! Way to go, Kathy. We're certainly glad you haven't totally abandoned your constituency in order to boost your national street cred!
It appears that Kathy's buddy Barack Obama isn't the only 'elitist' member of the liberal left - Governor Sebelius can blow off the common folk with the best of 'em.

Wow, what an insightgul post. Anyone who can't stick around to shoot a turkey sure isn't qualified to be governor. By the way, since the right wingers have now legislated our right to own machine guns, I assume that the concealed handguns those turkeys normally carry were no match for our intrepid hunters. By the way, your constant need to (giggle, tee-hee) refer to the gov. as Kathy reinforces the maturity level of SRK.

Governor Sebelius might be on the road of becoming the next Vice President. Who the hell cares if she missed some dumb Turkey hunt...

Your dreaming ... she will not be the next Vice President

WELL, you might be right, but Senator Obama will become our next President. God help us if John W. McCain is elected/selected.

You must be off of your medications again.

and since she's never missed before...but, hell, a trip out of state is more than these kids can handle.
this blog has died just like Bounce Boyda...it's sad, really, that the only blogs worth reading in this Red State are Blue.

It's clear her agenda is no longer focused on Kansas. It's all about her now, well, it always has been, now it's just no secret.
But, congrats on being the first gov to miss the hunt!

Can you say non-story? WHO CARES!?!?!!? She's been to five of these damn this already and if I'm not mistaken actually shot a bird at one of them.

Let her chase her delusions of grandeur. And start making the popcorn for her next pathetic effort to get national attention.

Sebelius & Obama can not be anywhere near as bad as "The Worst President Ever".
In fact - they will do just fine the next 8 years.
How many of our fellow Kansas children went to fight for oil never to return ?
How did we get there ?
I don't recall a Democratic Congress declaring war, do you?

For those of us who wondered, months ago, why John McCain sought and accepted the endorsement of radical preachers John Hagee and Rod Parsley, now we wonder why he's dumped them unceremoniously. Hagee went for his "Hitler was God's little helper," remarks (though his characterization of the Catholic Church as "the Great Whore" was well known long ago), but Parsley, who's worse, was only the second to fall: McCain Rejects Parsley Endorsement
May 22, 2008 10:34 PM
ABC News's Bret Hovell reports: Sen. John McCain rejected the endorsement of a second controversial pastor Thursday, saying there is no place for the Rev. Rod Parsley's comments about Islam.
"I believe there is no place for that kind of dialogue in America, and I believe that even though he endorsed me, and I didn't endorse him, the fact is that I repudiate such talk, and I reject his endorsement," McCain said in a statement.
The rejection of Parsley's endorsement comes several hours after McCain rejected the endorsement of Pastor John Hagee, who made controversial comments about the Holocaust and Catholics.
ABC News's Brian Ross reported Thursday on "Good Morning America" that Parsley has called Islam "the mouthpiece of a conspiracy of spiritual evil," and that Islam is an "anti-Christ religion that intends through violence to conquer the world."
Though StayRedKansas has decried the influence of lobbyists on the Slattery campaign, McCain has accepted the resignation of five of his top level campaign officials in just the last two weeks, because of their particularly onerous shilling for some of the world's most notorious dictators. I expect dozens more could go.
What will this mean for the Roberts campaign? Any thoughts?
