Hate To Say It...but We Told You So.
This morning, the Topeka Capital Journal is reporting that Kansas Attorney General Paul Morrison, the former Republican turned golden boy of the Kansas Democratic Party, faces a very serious sexual harassment charge from a long-time former employee, Linda Carter.
No folks, this isn't a rehashing of the charge that Phill Kline leveled Morrison with during the race for Attorney General. In fact, this one carries so many more documented and serious charges than that one even hinted at. To name a few, abuse of power, sexual relations in state offices, manipulation of state employees, subversion of the law, etc. Not to mention the absolute breach of trust that Morrison has committed in the court of public opinion - he promised the voters of Kansas that he had no history of sexual harassment. Yes, if you read the story, this was occurring at about the same exact time that he was trying to force his mistress to leak information about Phill Kline's actions in the District Attorney's office.
There's so much to be examined, folks, that we will refrain from doing so at this point - rest assured, we will have in-depth, comprehensive coverage of these charges and the implications they may bring about for the remainder of this week.
The most telling part of the story are the family members that are suffering due to Morrison's lying and infidelity. Joyce Morrison, Paul's long-time wife, was quoted after the initial Kline Campaign ad dropped as saying that 'Kline had lost his moral compass.' Several weeks ago, Joyce personally telephoned Kline to retract that criticism and to apologize for believing that it was Kline - not Morrison - that had lost his moral compass.
To drive this point home, here's a transcript of Paul Morrison's most memorable - and hypocritical - campaign advertisement. The entire time that he was conceiving, shooting and airing this video - Morrison knew that he was literally tearing down the very structure of his family.
If you're a Morrison supporter, don't beat yourself up - you obviously weren't the only ones duped into believing that Morrison had the right 'priorities.'

Unbelievable..Seriously, wow. Don't even know what to say.

"Told you so" what? This blog has never even hinted that Morrison was running around, cheating on his wife. You "told" us anything, so don't pretend like you had some kind of advance or inside knowledge of any kind about anything whatsoever.
Silly children.

Can't defend Paul, can you? How's the weekend been with this news in mind?

Why would it be up to me, or any other poster here, to defend Morrison? What he did was pretty indefensible.
But to claim a "We told you so" when you have NOTHING to back it up is exactly what I called it upthread: Childish.
Silly children.

To insinuate that any Kansas Republican, much less the authors of a political blog, didn't question Morrison's sexual history is not childish - it's ignorant. Act like you have some political frame of reference over the last year and a half, please?!

Say what you will about Kline, but he would never break up a family with for selfish indulgence. Morrison is a pig, I hope we can all agree on that. Anybody defending him has an absolutely distorted moral compass or complete irregard for the law or healthy work environments.
I can't imagine what the Morrison family is going through right now. They all deserved better than this guy. His political grave is dug and his grime and dirt will cover it up soon. Good riddance Paul Morrison.

I wonder when the public apology will go out to that lady he harassed in JoCo, then sicced Parkinson's law firm on her when she complained. They tried to take away custody of her children. We get to be more like Arkansas every day. Time to take a shower.

Damn...a politician with moral transgressions? Shocker.
Really, drop the fake outrage. At least he's not a hypocrite about it like your guys.

He's not a hypocrite about it? What the heck were you smoking during the 2006 election season, friend. This revelation makes Paul Morrison officially THE biggest hypocrite in all of politics.

No kidding...."I have never had a hint of scandal............."

The Democrat's house of cards keeps tumbling down. It will be interesting what type of skeletons come from the closet of that joke Greg Orman. Morrison had a mistress, what do you think the Orman past hides?

Golly, it sure is fun to sit on the sidelines and yell at the guys who are playing

That's an enormous fabrication. Did it hurt when you pulled it out your *ss?

Maybe you should contact Tim Carpenter at the Capital-Journal. It was in his article, Mr. Smart Guy.

Be careful where you cast stones, Christian Morgan has his own infidelity issues.

I guess it can't be considered libel - at least in a legal sense - if it's made up in an anonymous blog post, but this one comes close. Despicable.

It has to be untrue to be libel, Morgan.

The Democrats who post on this blog always blow me away. But after reading this story I thought no way do they post on SRK today. Well, they still did. You guys are the biggest idiots to ever occupy Kansas. You have no class, no morals, and you stand for nothing. The fact that you posted here proves it. Your small victories were of little consequence and your day is quickly arriving. The people of Kansas are learning who and what you really are - and don't approve. RIP!

first off- something everyone should be saying- my prayers go out to Joyce & the kids.
Second, why is it all of you are blindly assuming all the details in the Cap-J are true? Normally you'd be hollering about the liberal media and how awful it is. Personally, I don't know if i believe any of it.

Because, ding-dong, the only thing that Morrison denied was that he tried to manipulate her into spying on Kline - of course he would deny that, because that's the only thing she can't prove (that we know of). All the rest was signed off on by Morrison's apology. Bottom line. There's no 'consipiracy' here - plain and simple, Morrison disputed that one point and that's it.

Don't think for one minute that she can't prove her allegations...more will come out soon! The gun is a smoking!

Morrison's days are numbered; Dems are already bailing.
Who are the potential Democrat replacements?
