Blackhawk Down

Last month, Stay Red Kansas reported that Governor Sebelius would be gracing the citizens of Wichita with her presence during their annual Veterans Day parade. According to our sources, Sebelius had planned on making a grand entrance, accompanied by National Guard soldiers and a number of vehicles, including a Blackhawk helicopter.
These plans were made just months after Governor Sebelius attempted to shoulder blame for the Greensburg tornado disaster on the Bush Administration for what she referred to as a misuse of military personnel and equipment that are fighting terrorism in Iraq. So - the Bush Administration's deployment of National Guard forces in the Middle East is not a legitimate Military function, but a pompous flyover of your constitutents is?
Realizing the inherent hypocrisy in these plans, Sebelius canceled not only the flyover - she canceled the trip altogether. Apparently if Kathy couldn't fly, she simply wasn't going to go.
In her place, Sebelius promised to send Lt. Governor Mark Parkinson. Sadly for the folks of Wichita that had been hoping for some official recognition of the State's largest Veterans Day festivities, Parkinson's schedule was apparently too full as well - he simply didn't show up.
We would like to thank the Sebelius Administration for their warm and sincere commemoration of Veterans Day - it's good to know that they always have time to thank the thousands of Kansas troops that have made the ultimate sacrifice for their Country.

Source? How do you know she intended to do this? Once again, you look like nothing more than a partisan hack when you can't back up your claims.

Continuing a track of irrelevant boring posts that have nothing to do with Kansas politics. Reinforces the image that the posters are little boys playing "tee hee, look at this story" in the basement. It's time to out the posters here - who exactly are these guys? Friends of Benny "the tool" Hodge, friends of Christian Morgan, the GOP club of Dorkville Middle School?

The name calling makes you look so much more mature and relavant. If you are not happy with what is on this site ..... maybe you ought to try other sites.

That is a sensible suggestion. Do you have any recommendations?

This is a Governor who has been all about image and photo ops. She needed the Blackhawk for good background.
An organization that I belong to requested the appearance of the Governor at an event. The first question that I received from her staff was about press members.

Actually believe there are more Republicans posting than Dems but answer this one. When was the last post on this blog that was an interesting political observation worth discussing as opposed to these nothings. There is actually a lot going on these days heading into Kansas legislative session and an election year. SRK just doesn't seem involved or knowledgeable. Hot and active race for Lynn's senate seat, three-way rumble for Jordan's seat, rumors of retiring legislators, the seemingly non-existent Jordan campaign, dualing parties over coal and health affiliations, etc.

Not sure to whom you are referring.
By the way - your statement asserts that all people in search of relevant, intelligent discourse, and not interested in petty personal attacks are Democrats.
I would disagree with that assessment, but hey, if that's what you believe.

Yeah or maybe a discussion about potential hot topics in the upcoming legislative session and issues which set Republicans apart from Democrats.
This name calling stuff back and is just making everyone a little less intelligent due to the reading of them.

What's with the Ben Hodge obsession in the comments? We get it; you don't like him, but seems like every subject brings up some out-of-place comment about Ben Hodge.

We had a wonderful parade to honor our veterans. Donald Betts was the only politician crass enough to try to make it all about his campaign. We certainly didn't miss Kathy or her clown.
